For maintaining carburettors and fuel injectors, the petrol system is the starting point. EUROSOL Petrol System (BS) is added to the petrol in the fuel tank. It helps dissolve resin and deposits in fuel carrying components. This is a separate application from engine oil maintenance.
Check three things before choosing: Does your motorcycle have a two stroke or a four stroke engine? Does it run on carburettors or fuel injection? Does the clutch run in the same oil circuit as the engine? This allows you to plan maintenance accurately.
Cleaning a motorcycle carburettor: what a petrol additive can achieve
A carburettor meters fuel and air for the engine. During treatment with a petrol additive, the product reaches wetted components along with the fuel. For an injection system, the focus is similarly on cleaning fuel carrying parts and fuel injectors.
If the carburettor is already severely blocked or leaking fuel, a technical inspection is necessary. Seals, mechanical faults and stubborn dirt cannot be resolved solely through a tank additive. Targeted cleaning in the workshop then complements ongoing system maintenance.
Start of season and ongoing care
- Preparation: Check fuel, tank volume and product instructions. After long storage periods, also check the condition of lines and connections.
- Dose correctly: Add BS to the petrol tank before refuelling, in line with the product instructions. For small motorcycle tanks, adjust the quantity to the actual fuel volume.
- Schedule maintenance: Align system care with your planned maintenance schedule. The correct procedure before seasonal storage is also detailed in the product instructions.
Correct engine oil maintenance for motorcycles
EUROSOL Oil System Engine Flush (OS) is an engine flush used before an oil change. EUROSOL High Performance Oil Additive (HO) provides supplementary care after the oil change. Both belong to engine oil maintenance and are never added to the petrol tank like BS.
Important note for wet clutches: Do not use HO in engines where the clutch runs in the same oil circuit. The increased lubricity can cause clutch slip and loss of drive. For the engine flush, check whether it is suitable for your specific engine design as well.
Frequently asked questions about motorcycle additives
Is a motorcycle additive the same as a petrol additive?
Motorcycle additive is a broad term. The decisive factor is the application: BS is designed for the petrol system, whilst OS and HO are intended for separate stages of engine oil maintenance. Choose according to engine design and product instructions.
Can I use these products on a scooter as well?
For a petrol scooter, petrol system care is appropriate. Oil products also depend on the engine design. With two stroke engines, maintenance steps for a four stroke engine oil circuit cannot be applied.
Does an entire bottle belong in every motorcycle tank?
The correct amount depends on the fuel volume and the product dosage. Consult the application instructions on the product page and the technical documentation, particularly for small tanks.
